Internal – Doing the Mental Work in Order to Succeed

Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.
– Zig Ziglar

Are you ready to be successful? Uncle Zig got it right. If you are mentally ready for success, nothing can hold you back.

Take, for example, the story of Nick Vujicic. Vujicic was born without fully formed limbs. He could have spent his whole life feeling helpless and sorry for himself.

Instead, he started giving inspirational talks at a young age, graduated from university with a double major in accounting and financial planning, and in 2007, founded Attitude is Altitude, a motivational speaking company.

He makes his living encouraging and inspiring those who, at first glance, would seem to have a whole lot more going for them than he does.

But it’s Vujicic’s positive outlook that makes all the difference.

The same is true for you and me. A positive attitude is a positive indicator of success in life.

And as you would expect, a poor mental attitude is by far the biggest hindrance to success.

Many of us go through life with mental baggage that keeps us from achieving our potential.

We sometimes carry false views that money is somehow morally bad. People even twist the message of the Bible to say that money is the root of all evil. Not so.

If you do your research, the Bible has a lot of practical teaching about the importance of managing money, and business, wisely. No excuses there!

We also sometimes carry the false view that we are somehow unworthy of success. Again, not true. You and I are just as worthy as anyone else.

If there is a worthiness criterion for success it has to turn on how much you actually do the work you need to do in order to succeed.

If you’ve come this far and are reading this, it’s a good sign that you’re ready to turn your life around, and willing to do the work necessary to bring your dreams into reality.

A positive attitude is a positive indicator of success in life.
